What is Hoop Dance?
Hoop Dance is the latest fun way to improve fitness levels,
core strength, coordination and most importantly confidence!!
It is very different from the hooping you may remember from
your childhood. The movement comes from your core, not
your hips, the tricks can become very impressive improving
coordination and balancing the body. Once tricks are
mastered, moving from one trick to another in a graceful
flowing movement becomes a very natural feeling.
Why Hoop Dance?
Hoop Dance is perfect for adults looking for a fun way to get fit and has even been reported by the Cooper Aerobics Institute of Texas to burn up to 100 calories every 10 minutes- as much as running!
Who is it for?
Anyone can Hoop Dance. Of course as with any new exercise, if you’re recovering from an injury or looking to start a new exercise regime, please check with your doctor. Also see the PARQ (Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire) form provided.
The Hoops....
The hoops we use are much larger than the hoops you will probably remember from your childhood, they are also weighted (approx 2lbs) which makes them far easier to use as they turn more slowly and can be easily controlled- if you think you can’t hoop or never could, come along and see how they work for you.
